You absolutely must watch the video today of Manchester United Manager Louis van Gaal at his weekly press briefing. It was held a day earlier than usual this week because the Red Devils match (vs Derby County in the FA Cup) is on Friday instead of on the weekend.
The Van Gaal tenure at Old Trafford is very Rasputin like- you just can’t end it. Here’s the YouTube embed below, the real fun begins around the 3:10 mark:
Van Gaal ripped the media who reported that he offered his resignation not once but twice over the weekend. He said those reports are just not true.
“This is the third time I have been sacked and I am still sitting here for you. I’m doing it because I am obliged,” the Dutchman stated.
“It’s this world, where you can write what you want and you don’t have to verify anything.”
Van Gaal sack/resignation watch has been working overdrive this week, as media members from all over the world have been opining on the topic.
Van Gaal was asked if the pressure he’s facing and the speculation he’s forced to endure is harder than what he’s dealt with in other countries. LVG responded by saying that he’s always faced this kind of scrutiny.
