Manchester United will kick off in a matter of hours at the Rose Bowl, or as I call it heaven on Earth. Seriously, watching the sunset against the San Gabriel Mountains in Pasadena, California, when it’s 80 degrees on New Year’s Day, that’s living right there. That’s the high life. Sure, Louis van Gaal wants to end these U.S. preseason tours, so I guess Man United won’t be going to the United States in the future.
Van Gaal has definitely imposed his will on the club now it seems, which is a good thing…except in this case. Anyway, United take on the L.A. Galaxy of the MLS at the Rose Bowl tonight.
As we reported, it appears both star strikers, Wayne Rooney and Landon Donovan will actually play in the game tonight. So what lineup will LVG trot out in Southern California. The People’s Person have predicted this line-up in the Formation: 4-3-3
However, tonight’s game at the Rose Bowl, even though it’s a meaningless preseason game, still has plenty of intrigue and story-lines. As Goal.com put it:
“the choice of formation is not the only uncertainty heading into this clash, as much will be made over who the veteran manager selects as his captain following the departures of experienced pros such as Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra.”
What’s most important of all, and this goes without saying, is that no one gets hurt tonight at the Rose Bowl friendly
