With Bayern Munich Manager Pep Guardiola saying that he’ll announce his future career plans next week, both Manchester clubs are on high alert. Guardiola is out of contract this summer, but there’s still a chance the Catalan coach will re-up to stay at the Allianz Arena.
Manchester United have escalated their contact and approach with Guardiola, ESPN FC reported over the weekend.
On Monday and Tuesday, numerous tabloids reported that Manchester City was ready to outspend the Red Devils in order to acquire the services of Guardiola.
Pep Guardiola is growing weary from all the speculation. Hence he felt he need to answer for it.
“Tonight I have no answer. Next week you will know the answer. Next week there will be clarity,” Guardiola told German broadcaster ARD. (h/t Sky Sports)
According to the Sun today, “Manchester City will find out by the weekend whether Pep Guardiola will sign a new deal with Bayern Munich or leave, possibly for the Premier League, next summer.”
The Daily Express offered this narrative: “Ottmar Hitzfeld has fueled the rumors that Pep Guardiola will take over at Manchester City at the end of his Bayern Munich contract next summer.”
It won’t be long before we find out what Guardiola has in store.
