It will continue to be a very exciting summer transfer window at Manchester United, with plenty of comings and goings. Who will be the next to join Fred and Diogo Dalot as new arrivals this summer? Who will be heading out the Old Trafford door?
Let’s take a spin through the latest transfer rumors and gossip making the rounds on the internet today.
–Victor Lindelof didn’t exactly have a dream first season at Old Trafford, but as he departed for the World Cup, the Swedish central defender said that learned a lot under manager Jose Mourinho over the course of the season. Lindelof saw his playing time increase as the campaign went on, but he’s still far from being a first team regular.
Everton are reportedly willing to offer him a chance at regular first team football. The Daily Mirror claim that Lindelof is a priority signing for the Toffees, and that the price they’re willing to pay would net United a £3.5 million profit.
-Back on May 30, Mourinho was spotted in a baseball cap at Austria’s friendly versus Russia scouting West Ham United forward Marko Arnautovic.
That event invited a whole lot of speculation about United’s pursuit of the Hammers hit man.
Arnautovic was very coy when speaking about his future and the current speculation that surrounds it. He says he’s “happy” at West Ham, but at the same time conveyed some “que sera sera” about his club future.
“I am happy with my job. Whatever happens will happen. I’ve never heard anything,’ Arnautovic said to Sky Austria (transcript Daily Mail), ahead of his national team’s friendly against Brazil.
“Even three weeks ago I haven’t heard anything. That’s why I cannot say anything about it. The only thing that bothers me is that I am in good health and that I am able to play football. I have a contract at West Ham, that’s all we have to talk about.”
Finally, it wouldn’t be an edition of United transfer talk without a Gareth Bale item, so here’s what’s buzzing today in that oldie but a goodie narrative. According to the Daily Mirror, United have received a boost in their pursuit of the Real Madrid winger. That’s because Bale “has told Bayern Munich he wants a move to the Premier League if Real Madrid decide to sell the Wales star.”
