Liverpool fans got a fitness boost today in the 1-0 win at Watford. They saw Roberto Firmino return only to collide with Adrian Mariappa in the fourth minute, and eventually have to be subbed off before halftime. He was replaced by another LFC star making a return from a long injury absence, Adam Lallana.
The Reds, seemingly getting healthier at the right time for the run-in, started to feel anxiety about the health of Firmino.
There’s nothing to worry about, he could be ready for the next game (Sunday versus Southampton).
“He has a dead leg,” Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp said in postgame. “Hopefully it’s not too serious, but of course it’s really painful and no chance [to continue]. Everybody could see he tried hard, but no chance.”
“It isn’t serious,” Coutinho reassured on Instagram, posting a photo of himself smiling and giving the thumbs up.
Liverpool remained in third place with the win at Vicarage Road, a place where they suffered a lopsided loss a year ago.
