Liverpool vs Leicester Injury Report: Alexander-Arnold, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gomez, Lovren

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will still have plenty of defensive concerns when his side hosts Leicester City on Wednesday night.  Joe Gomez (ankle) is still out injured for the Premier League table toppers while midfielder James Milner (who has filled in when needed on the back line this season) is suspended.

The good news is that Dejan Lovren (thigh) is expected to feature, having now returned to full training. Meanwhile right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold (knee issue) should be back in contention soon, but likely not in time for the mid-week clash at Anfield. If he can’t go, then midfielder Fabinho could be the first team choice at right-back.

Midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will obviously not be ready for this one, but he’s started down the comeback trail now, and that is certainly a feel good story to say the least given how he was originally ruled out for the entire season.

In switching over to the visitors, it seems that English defender extraordinaire Harry Maguire should be ready to go, and that means the Foxes are a squad that is essentially at full fitness.

The two clubs have met on 25 previous occasions in Premier League competition. Liverpool have won 13 of those, while Leicester have emerged victorious on seven prior occasions.

Five previous meetings have seen the two sides play to a stalemate.
