Aston Villa got off a rough start this season, but at least they’re out of the current drop zone. At the bigger than average international break, Villa sit 16th in the Premier League table, not 18th or worse. So hey, it could be worse. There are many reasons why Villa have gotten off to such a rough start, but injuries are certainly right at the top of the list. The Villans have so many injuries, we’ll need two different posts to cover it all. In part one, we’ll go over Zion Suzuki, Brian Madjo, Alysson and Marco Bizot.

For part two, we’ll go over the likes of Pau Torres, Leon Goretzka, Ian Maatsen and Amadou Onana.

Zion Suzuki

The summer signing has been a very key player for Villa, thus far, this season. So hearing that he’s hurt is indeed very bad news. Zion Suzuki is now currently training alone at Japan national team camp. Reportedly, he has a tear to his oblique muscle. So we’ll see what his status is, when the home match with Brentford approaches on Oct 10.

The 17-year-old hasn’t featured yet this season, but apparently, he’s fully recovered from injury, and should be available again after the break.

“In this break, he is going to start training with us collectively,” Villa manager Unai Emery told the media, in his pre-match press conference ahead of the win at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

“Now he is still working alone, but in this break, he is going to join us collectively, and hopefully after the break.”

Alysson

Alysson Franco da Rocha dos Santos missed out this past weekend, due to an unspecified muscular injury. However, he is reportely expected to be available again after the break.

Marco Bizot

Another injury to a goalkeeper, he was withdrawn at Coventry City due to a back injury. “Marco felt pain in his back,” Emery said a week ago. “We decided to change him, and hopefully it’s not a big injury.”

Reportedly, his lower back injury is not understood to be very serious.
