Tottenham Hotspur supporters have some bad injury news to think about today, and it relates to Pedro Porro. However, at least the news that broke only a few hours ago isn’t that bad. Once again, a Tottenham player has a hamstring injury, and it will force him to be sidelined for awhile. But it is nowhere near as severe as the other hamstring injuries that we’ve seen the club have to deal with, in recent years.
According to the Athletic/New York Times, Porro will miss a month. Fortunately, that timeline syncs with the big boy sized international break, and it means he’ll likely only miss two matches: at Manchester United on October 10 and home to Coventry City on October 19.
Again though, this is an estimate, and of course, a very fluid situation. Let’s get you updated on Porro, as well as the other injured Spurs.
Pedro Porro
Manager Roberto de Zerbi spoke about Pedro Porro after he got injured in the 3-2 loss to Aston Villa this past weekend.
“Listen, Pedro, I said after the World Cup,” De Zerbi said to reporters on Saturday after yet another defeat.
“I said the management of Pedro should be different, because after the World Cup, many games. I don’t know what the problem is. It’s a hamstring, I think. Hopefully, it’s not a big problem.”
Mykhailo Mudryk
The Ukrainian winger who was a shock signing for Spurs, very late in the summer transfer window, is out until late October, possibly November, with an ankle injury.
Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons
Both of these players are still recovering from ACL injuries, and it will be a long time before they feature again.
Dejan Kulusevski
Much like Odobert and Simons, Kulusevski is a long-term absentee, recovering from a serious knee issue. The only difference here is that De Zerbi recently provided an update on his status.
“We have to manage Deki in the best way possible with the medical staff,” De Zerbi said on Friday.
“He deserves to play again. We have to work day-by-day. For Deki, it is important the national break because when he is at top, best condition, he will be like another new signing.”
When he’s actually back, remains to be seen.
