The awful injury misfortune continues for Arsenal midfielder/forward Kai Havertz. He was forced off in the 30′ of Germany’s 1-1 draw with the Netherlands last night. The Gernan national team’s medical staff deemed the problem to be an unspecified muscular injury. Subsequent reports have defined the issue as a minor hamstring strain. The Havertz injury came after his teammate, Bayern Munich attacking player Jamal Musiala, withdrew due to an injury concern, in prematch warm-ups.

Jurgen Klopp, following his very first match as the new German national team boss provided an update on both players, at the same time, to television broadcaster outlet RTL:

“Both are currently undergoing an MRI. I hope we get the diagnosis [on Thursday] evening. But of course, this isn’t great. I hope it’s nothing serious.

“The lads are probably out for us. But hopefully, they’ll be back in action relatively quickly.”

Havertz has since left the German national team camp and returned to Arsenal. You can add him to the Gunners’ current injury concern list.

According to reports, the club hopes that the injury isn’t too severe. There is even some optimism that he might be fit enough/in time to feature in the next match, against Leeds United, on October 10.

As that is still 15 days off, we’ll have to wait and see. Havertz, a man synonymous with scoring clutch goals, is obviously a very key player for Arsenal. They are going to want him back as soon as possible.

And given his extensive injury history (which includes this specific problem even), this remains to be seen. Havertz missed 20 matches, across club and country, to conclude the 2024-25 season, with a hamstring problem.

He also missed about half of the last campaign with a knee injury.
