Poor Andreas Christensen. The oft-injured Danish defender is hurt yet again, this time suffering a left thigh strain. That is according to various reports. In terms of a timeline for return, it could be anywhere from four weeks to two months.
At least it’s happening right now, during what is indeed the mother of all international breaks.

Barcelona’s next match is October 10, at home to Getafe. Andreas Christensen will likely miss out on that. Ditto for October 13 at Galatasaray, in the Champions League. He probably won’t play at Real Betis on Oct. 17 either, and could miss out on the massive Oct. 20 UCL showdown at Paris Saint-Germain too.
Maybe the center back could return for El Clasico on Oct 25?
So stay tuned, as this is all, a very fluid situation.
Frenkie de Jong
The Dutchman midfield maestro is a key player for the Blaugranes, so credit them for being top of the table, right now, and continuing their winning ways while he’s sidelined. It’s going to be awhile before he comes back too, as the current timeline projects a late November return for him.
He is recovering from knee medial ligament tear, and those are pretty serious injuries.
Roony Bardghji
Like De Jong, he’s dealing with a ligament tear, and he’ll be out awhile. Bardghji has a cruciate ligament tear, and he may miss the entire season. If he does come back, it won’t be until the final month.
Joan Garcia
The starting goalkeeper has a knee injury, but it is not serious. He should be back for the next match.
