With the Chelsea FC managerial situation being so unsettled right now, the club have been unable to get any transfer business done this summer. Perhaps that will change soon as a report three days ago indicated progress made in talks between Chelsea and Napoli over Maurizio Sarri, who is pegged to replace current incumbent Antonio Conte as the new Blues boss.

Sarri, reportedly, will come on board and sign a three-year-deal, which then leaves us wondering who will his first signing in the transfer window will be.

Previously, we explored the idea of  Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, but today Sky Sports is linking the west London club with one of this World Cup’s heroes- Russian attacking player Aleksandr Golovin.

The Sky article writes of the CSKA Moscow man being in high demand, stating that: “Juventus have had a €20 million offer for the player, whose contract in Moscow runs to the end of the 2020/21 season, turned down. CSKA are believed to want €25 million and the Serie A club have decided not to increase their offer.”

According to multiple reports, Chelsea are already in talks over Golovin, who could end up costing £27 million. An article in The Telegraph explores this idea while also revealing how Stamford Bridge are interested in replacing goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois with Alisson Becker. While it’s been all tumbleweeds thus far in regards to the Chelsea transfer window, once the first big move gets made, other dominoes could fall.

The interest in Golovin could no doubt be significantly driven by concerns over Willian departing to Manchester United and Eden Hazard bolting for Real Madrid.
