JOE PATERNO FIRED! Tom Bradley Named Penn St Interim Coach

The Penn State University board of trustees had an emergency meeting tonight and decided to dismiss Joe Paterno as head college football coach at Penn State University. I’m sure you know why.

So it appears he will not go out at the end of the season, as he preferred to do. Defensive Coordinator Tom Bradley has been promoted to interim head coach; and he will lead the team Saturday versus the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Coincidentally, Bradley has the same position once held by Jerry Sandusky, the man who started this entire mess. It takes a lot to fire a man who is the all-time college football coaching wins leader. And I would say not taking sufficient action to discipline/prevent child rape qualifies as more than a “lot.”

The Univ. needs to take this step because how could JoePa go the entire rest of the season without taking any questions on the child rape scandal? He couldn’t. And the sex crimes would overshadow football at every turn.
