Barcelona and Argentina superstar of superstars Lionel Messi apparently had a secret admiration for Chelsea. Or he might have once had a latent desire to leave the Camp Nou for Stamford Bridge.
That’s because when he played FIFA, the immensely popular football video game, with former national teammate and close friend Pablo Zabaleta, he regularly chose Chelsea.
In an interview with the BBC, the former member of La Albiceleste said he would often spend his leisure time playing Messi in FIFA, and that the winner of a record tying five Ballon d’Or awards wouldn’t play as Barcelona or Argentina.
“I was better at Playstation than Messi,” Zabaleta said. “He was Chelsea, he used to play with Chelsea a lot. I was living in Barcelona city and he was living 30 minutes away from the city, we were playing on the internet.”
Well, if you’re a Blues supporter, just imagine what could have been.
