Jurgen Klopp calls his own side’s defense “rubbish”

Jurgen Klopp continues to bring a breath of fresh air to the press conference culture of the Premier League. The Liverpool Manager always brings his German sensibilities and candid assessments of his side to the table when he meets the media. What an engaging personality he is and continues to be!

Today, Liverpool lost 5-4 to lowly Norwich City in a final score that almost sounds like a typo. It’s not! It was just really bad defending; especially on the side of LFC.

Jurgen Klopp said so himself, calling it the “worst rubbish ever”

Klopp told BBC Sport: “We have had a few games with a similar story like this, we need to think whether it is because of us.

“It was exciting until the end and longer. We had a win after 90 mins, a draw after 92 and then a win again. It is not usual.”

“There was about 70 minutes that were really good. We started well but then conceded the goals. Conceding four goals in general [is] not good. Conceding from set plays is the biggest rubbish ever because it is too easy for the other team.”

So the Reds struggles continue; despite the club getting their home run hire as a replacement for Brendan Rodgers, who was sacked in early October. Liverpool have actually gotten worse under Klopp than they were under Rodgers, but as LFC living legend Steven Gerrard said himself earlier this week, just give Klopp some time and everything will be alright.

As bad as today’s result was, Reds supporters should take patience and heed Stevie G’s advice.
