Juan Mata believes there can still be Champions League football for Manchester United next year. The man who landed the most lucrative deal in MUFC history must feel buoyed by the draw United scored against Bayern Munich in their meeting at Old Trafford. The Red Devils have the worst odds out of the eight remaining teams in Champions League and Bayern have the best odds. They’re considered the best team in Europe right now.
Juan Mata, who is ineligible because he already played for Chelsea FC in CL competition before moving to United in January believes his side can defy the odds and surprise the football pundits.
“This victory (against Newcastle) gives us a lot of energy for our game in Munich on Wednesday. In the first leg, the support from Old Trafford was our power to cope with such a tough game. It was a great night that I had to enjoy from the stands.” Juan Mata blogged for the official Manchester United website.
“On Wednesday I’ll be supporting from home, in front of the TV, aware that the Allianz Arena is one of the toughest stadiums in Europe… but also aware that we are Manchester United and I’m sure we can make it through!”
