Manchester United Manager Louis van Gaal has set his sights on Valencia center back Nicolas Otamendi. Both Ole and Metro are reporting that a summer transfer deal has been done.
Previous attempts to sign Otamendi failed, however it appears United are now closing in with reports in South America saying he’s accepted a move to Old Trafford.
United are understood to have made an offer in the region of £26m for Otamendi in February. However, Valencia were supposedly holding out for his £37 million buy-out clause.
The Argentine centre back has been subject of three bids in recent transfer windows from United, with club scouts raving about him. Maybe this time United have finally closed the deal in signing Otamendi.
With Memphis Depay already in tow, could this be the second signing of what Louis van Gaal says will be an extremely busy summer?
