It promises to be a very exciting summer transfer window at Manchester United, with plenty of potential comings and goings. Here’s a link to our list of eight players could be exiting Old Trafford at the end of the season.
So, let’s take a spin through the latest transfer rumors and gossip making the rounds on the internet today.
-We start with highly coveted Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin. United, along with Barcelona and Chelsea, are reportedly in the derby to sign the Spaniard, but it appears Juventus now have pole position. The Daily Star reports that: “according to radio station Cadena Ser, the north Londoners seem set to cash in on the right-back.”
They report advanced talks between Arsenal and Juve took place yesterday, with a fee of €50m (£44m) discussed.”
-If Anthony Martial is to leave, then Chelsea could be his next destination. Of course, there’s a domino theory at work here. If the Blues miss out on Champions League, then they might initiate an overhaul, and that means plenty of sales; especially with a new manager likely coming in. One of the first to go, could be the stellar Eden Hazard, long linked to Real Madrid.
We covered this one in more detail yesterday. For an outside resource, check out FanSided’s Chelsea FC community, “The Pride of London,” article on this topic.
-Roma star Radja Nainggolan has played down the narratives linking him to Chelsea and Manchester United, ahead of his side’s crunch clash against Liverpool tonight in the UEFA Champions League semifinals.
Nainggolan, speaking at the UCL press conference yesterday, said: “I didn’t stay here because I knew we’d get to the Champions League semi-final, but because I feel that winning here would be unforgettable.
“That’s the way I am – I always prefer to go for the tougher route. I’ll be here for years to come. I don’t like the idea of leaving a place where I’m happy – that’s just the way I am.”
–Defenders Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind, both of whom have made just three Premier League starts this season, seem destined for the Old Trafford exit door this summer. Each could land with an Italian club; here’s a link to more on that.
-Central defender Eric Bailly is reportedly a bit concerned about his future with the club as he has not featured since the Manchester Derby win a few weeks ago. The Daily Mirror has more at this link.
