Anthony Martial Drawing Interest From Juventus, Bayern and Barcelona

Manchester United have two stellar young forwards who just can’t seem to find regular, consistent first team football in Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford. Given how both players have loads of potential, but too often find themselves on the bench, the transfer rumors have been flying fast and furious.

Earlier this month, there were plenty of reports about a potential Rashford exit. Not the transfer rumors are shifting more towards Martial. Multiple reports have suggested that Martial rejected a new contract offer over concerns about his lack of playing time. He’s only started only four games, and has not scored a single goal since Alexis Sanchez arrived from Arsenal in January.

Martial arrived on summer transfer window deadline day in 2015 from Monaco, for a fee that broke the world record for a teenager. He’s certainly had his moments over the course of his Old Trafford career, but it’s certainly been a roller coaster overall. Because he hasn’t been able to lock down a first team spot, the Frenchman seeks assurances on his role with the team before he considers signing a contract extension.

His current deal expires next summer, but the club has a one year option to extend. If he does move this summer, he’ll be in very demand, and some of that interest will come from the big boys in Europe. The Daily Mirror says that both Juventus and Bayern Munich are keen on Martial, writing that “The Italian side see the Frenchman as the replacement for Mario Mandzukic this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.”

Meanwhile the Daily Mail maintains that Barcelona are looking to bid this summer, to the tune of £60 million, after considering doing so last summer.

The Mail writes that: “Barcelona considered a bid for Martial last summer before they moved for Ousmane Dembele but they may now return for the French forward in the coming window.”
