Sure the victim was newly promoted Queens Park Rangers, but this victory was extremely celebrated by Man United fans. Louis van Gaal earned his first W as leader at Old Trafford, and given the disastrous start he got off to, this was kind of a big deal. We were worried a #BeforeLVGWinsAtUnited hash tag was going to start circulating.
That’s over now, as Louis van Gaal is off the hook. They won in dominating fashion, 4 to nil. And here Van Gaal discusses it afterward:
.
I’m very happy because of the result and the way we have played. And of course, a clean sheet, that’s also important,” Van Gaal said.
Louis van Gaal thinks the team improved the most in ball possession. “We were more direct to the goal I think, and that I like,” said Van Gaal.
“Also in the second half we created a lot of chances.”
