Sir Alex Ferguson had fun in Los Angeles last night as he attended the Academy Awards. The Manchester United and Premier League legend said that he thought the best movie was “12 years a slave,” but he also enjoyed “American Hustle” and “Captain Philips.” He’s also a big fan of Matthew McConaughey’s performance in “Dallas Buyers Club.”
Sir Alex recently said that he will not come out of retirement to manage the club should David Moyes be sacked. Before the Oscars Fergie also gave another endorsement for Moyes, who has come under very heavy fire this season as United is making the wrong kind of history all season on the pitch.
Here’s an interview of Sir Alex Ferguson on the red carpet in L.A.
“They (United) will be all right,” said Ferguson, speaking in Los Angeles at a party thrown by British Consul-General Chris O’Connor ahead of the Oscars.
“It’s early days and there have been a lot of changes. He (Moyes) needs time. I was there for 27 years, so with a new manager, it takes time. But they’ll be okay.”
Sir Alex Ferguson does have a point. He took over the club in 1986, and they didn’t win a trophy until 1990.
ESPN FC drafted a list of five top candidates to replace Moyes should he be sacked.
