It’s the penultimate edition of Manchester United starting XI prediction for the 2017-18 season, and it arrives with a guarantee of getting at least four spots correct. United will host Watford FC on Sunday and go into the game as favourites with Bet and Skill’s football predictions. The season finale provides the proper send-off for Captain Michael Carrick, who has a guaranteed place in the first team.

United manager Jose Mourinho has also said that Sergio Romero, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford will start, and that he will give rest to Alexis Sanchez, Jesse Lingard and David de Gea.

Romero plays on Sunday because he deserves that and some other players are going to play because we as a team achieve the second position and we as a team are going to play the FA Cup final,” Mourinho said after Thursday night’s lifeless, tedious 0-0 draw with West Ham United.

“It is normal that Michael Carrick is captain at Old Trafford for the last game of his career. David De Gea will be rested, so it gives a chance for Sergio Romero to play. I can make changes.

“Marcus and Anthony played against Brighton. Today it was for Alexis and [Jesse] Lingard to play and Sunday is again for Martial and Rashford.”
