Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal told MUTV: “I think Manchester United have to always be a challenger or champion.”
“Of course, we have problems still with the goalkeeper, so we need maybe two more players.”
So there you go, the Dutchman claims that two more players are on their way to Old Trafford before the transfer window closes on September 2nd. He addressed the transfer situation in more detail in press conference (video here at this link) today previewing tomorrow’s season opener versus Tottenham Hotspur.
So who will those two players be? What position? Van Gaal said again today that he needs a speedy attacker, so naturally that comment correlates with the rumors that Pedro could be leaving Barcelona to join up with the Red Devils. Of course, United is probably likely in the market for a center back and a goalkeeper too. Here’s the latest transfer rumor pertaining to the side of Van Gaal. Remember to take these narratives with a grain of salt.
-Daily Mirror: “Manchester United have still to make a formal offer for Pedro after refusing to meet his buy-out clause.”
-Daily Star “Sunderland are set to seal a sensational swoop for Manchester United starlet Adnan Januzaj – but only if Pedro arrives at Old Trafford.”
-Daily Express “Nicolas Otamendi will soon confirm plans to remain at Valencia, says club legend Mario Kempes.”
