Given what transpired this past Sunday, one might think that relations between Chelsea forward Eden Hazard and his former manager Jose Mourinho, now with Manchester United, are sour.
Prior to Chelsea’s 1-0 home victory over United, Mourinho extended his hand shake to every one of the Blues players except one- Eden Hazard. The Belgian returned the favor by snubbing his former boss right back. I guess it was to be a bit expected as the two were reportedly on bad terms when Mourinho was sacked in December of 2015.
You can see the video of this incident over at this link.
However, in an interview with RTL, Hazard has shot down suggestions that the pair had a falling out.
“It wouldn’t bother me to play under Jose Mourinho again.” he said.
Perhaps Hazard will one day move to United, or the duo can reunite at Paris Saint-Germain, if Jose actually does move there down the line. For the time being, Hazard maintains that he’s very happy at Chelsea, and holds no interest in leaving. He said this in the same interview, while discussing his respect and admiration for Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane.
“Everyone knows the respect I have for the man. For the player he was and for the coach he is, he was my idol. Of course I don’t know what will happen in my career in the future, but to play under him would be a dream,” the 2014-15 PFA Player of the Year said.
“At this time, though, I’m happy at Chelsea. I still have a lot of things to do at Chelsea, and I’m focused on Chelsea.”
In other Eden Hazard news, a new study, commissioned by the CIES Football Observatory, found him to be the most valuable player on the Blues, with a worth of £121 million. For more on that go to this link.
