Eden Hazard Was Due an Offensive Minded Boss Says Vincent Kompany

Ahead of the Premier League’s biggest fixture of the weekend, Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany has made some very interesting remarks about Chelsea forward Eden Hazard, and the type of managers that his fellow Belgian has worked under. Hazard got off to a rip roaring starting this season, but he’s been slowed by injury lately and thus entered a bit of a goal scoring drought.

However, given his all world form at the beginning of the season, it’s only a matter of time until Hazard breaks out of the funk. Kompany says the future is bright for the 27-year-old, who he believes finally has an attacking minded manager.

Kompany sees that as the primary reason Hazard is reaching his full potential this season.

“I think he was due an offensive manager,” the 32-year-old told reporters.

“I can’t remember him having that a lot in his career. Eventually a manager like this is what he needed, no matter where he was, to get the best out of him. The future is bright for him.”

That is of course a bit of a slam at Antonio Conte, and of course Jose Mourinho. It’s also a good compliment to Maurizio Sarri. While these comments are a bit eye-brow raising, at the same time it isn’t too far off from something Eden Hazard has already said earlier this term.
