Pep Guardiola Confirms Injury Setback for Sergio Aguero

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola confirmed that Sergio Aguero has suffered an injury after their disappointing draw against West Ham United on Saturday.

City went a goal down on a bicycle kick from Michail Antonio, but rallied thanks to Phil Foden stepping up. The draw now leaves the Manchester club in 12th place and they are five points off the top.

Tomorrow sees West Ham United host Manchester City in a match that might end up being more competitive and even strenght than the bookmakers seem to believe it will be. American Record Ten Players in 20/21 UEFA Champions League

The UEFA Champions League, Europe’s most prestigious soccer tournament, will feature 10 American players this season, nearly doubling the previous record of six. Soccer in the USA is growing, both in terms of participation and popularity. Since 2004 Major League Soccer (MLS), the top domestic league, has more than doubled in size with 10 teams in 2003 to 26 in 2020.

Man City Star Fernandinho Could be out Injured for Six Weeks

Manchester City got their UEFA Champions League campaign off to a rip roaring start, with a solid 3-1 win over FC Porto. However, it came with a price as midfielder/central defender Fernandinho left the match injured at the end of normal time.

Manager Pep Guardiola said it’s a repeat of his previous leg injury and that it could keep the 35-year-old out of commission for up to six weeks. “Bad news, his leg will be, I think four to six weeks out, yes it is a big blow for us with these amount of games and no people there, but it is what it is,” Guardiola told his post match news conference.

Pep Guardiola Deems Manchester City Performance ‘perfect’

Manchester City won their first Champions League game of the season, 3-1 over Porto and Pep Guardiola hailed this performance as ‘perfect,’ per BT Sport.

City went a goal down early, but rallied to score three of their own. Goals from Sergio Aguero, Ilkay Gundogan and Ferran Torres were enough to get the job done. Porto put up a spirited fight, but the English side just had too much quality.

Pep Guardiola Hails ‘incredible’ Ederson After Arsenal Win

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was full of praise for his goalkeeper Ederson after they beat Arsenal 1-0 on Saturday. The Citizens emerged as winners thanks to a goal from Raheem Sterling, but it proved to be a very tough game at the Etihad.

The North London club were a threat throughout the entire ninety minutes but the Sky Blues were able to defend their lead thanks in part to the brilliant play of their goalkeeper.

Mikel Arteta Slams VAR After Manchester City Defeat

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta questioned the way VAR handled a penalty situation in the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City today, according to Sky Sports (via Goal).

The North London club put up a brave fight, but were not able to find the back of the net. This was in large part due to the impressive performance of City keeper Ederson, but the game still could have gone in a very different direction had VAR checked a particular incident.
