Eden Hazard Looking for Clarity on Chelsea Manager Situation

Chelsea star Eden Hazard is demanding clarity on the murky managerial situation that currently looms over his club. Current manager Antonio Conte still remains in charge, despite widespread beliefs that he would be out of a job once the season ended.

Conventional wisdom has held for several months that Conte would be out the door given his clashes with upper management over transfer policy, and the Blues’ failure to qualify for the Champions League. Laurent Blanc has been linked as a potential successor to the Italian, but now Maurizio Sarri is the current favorite, apparently, to the gossip pages.

Like the phrase says “it all starts at the top,” and the uncertainty at the manager position has led to a lack of summer transfer business. Hazard himself faces an uncertain future at the club, as contract extension talks have stalled, while Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and other clubs continue to remain keen on him.

Currently on international duty with Belgium, Hazard was asked if his future will be determined by summer transfer comings and goings at Stamford Bridge.

“Yeah I want to know,” he responded.

“I want to know, but like I say I am focused on the World Cup. If we have something new – manager or players – it is always good to know it because I want players that can (help improve) Chelsea next season. But to be fair the transfer market is not here (entirely in full swing) yet. We will see after.”

“We had a bad season with Chelsea. We won the FA Cup at the end – so it was a little bit better but I’m only focused on the World Cup.”

“Then I let the board manage Chelsea the best way that they can.”
