Diego Costa Injured on International Duty Again, but will Remain with Spain

When Chelsea FC get their top weapon Diego Costa back from international duty, they might take a bit of extra precaution. At least at first, because Costa suffered a setback while training with Spain this week.

The former Atletico Madrid star was then taken out of training and sent to a local Madrid hospital, where he underwent x-rays. The scans were negative (that’s good news) and he’s since rejoined the squad. It’s a much better situation than what happened in November. Costa also suffered an injury while on international duty with Spain in the 11th month of 2016, and was then returned to Chelsea.

In November he missed Spain’s friendly against England at Wembley and their World Cup qualifier against Macedonia due to a thigh injury he suffered in training. In October 2014, Costa suffered a problem with his hamstring while on international duty.

It remains to be seen how serious his current injury is, and by all indications it would appear to be not serious at all, but this news just reinforces how no one really likes international breaks, because these kinds of instances make everyone nervous. Spain have already completed their World Cup qualifier against Israel, and they are set to take on France in a friendly on Tuesday.
