Chelsea football club began their Premier League title defense with an absolutely atrocious first half, but since that opening 45 minutes, they have outscored their opponents 8-2. They looked really solid today in a 2-1 win at Leicester City, and find themselves just one point behind the two Manchester clubs for the top of the table.

Additionally, Eden Hazard returned to action today and Tiemoue Bakayoko is looking better on better.

However, the two main star men for Chelsea today were striker Alvaro Morata and midfielder N’Golo Kante, and they were the two individuals singled out for praise by Manager Antonio Conte in the postgame news conference.

“It’s a good day for the team and for Alvaro,” Conte said of the striker who broke the club transfer fee record when he moved over from Real Madrid this summer.

“It’s always important for the striker to score but for me, it’s very important for me to see he’s improving and more involved in our idea of football. For me this is the most important thing. Then if he scores I’m very happy, and I’m pleased for the player.”

The Italian was also very pleased with how the 2015-16 PFA Player of the Year performed against his former team.

“N’Golo played an amazing game, but we are used to seeing this. He’s a fantastic player. He makes good runs with quality, but he’s also improving a lot his passes and his finishing. I think it’s very important to see that this player is improving his weaknesses step by step. N’Golo is a really top player,” Conte said.

“I think to win three in a row is important for the players, because we are doing very well. In England it is not easy to win, especially if you are the champions and you start in a bad way. I have great players, they are reliable and I trust them.
