Northern Illinois appears to have discontinued it’s basketball program

And you thought what Florida State did to NIU in the Orange Bowl was bad. I guess Northern Illinois is a college football school; because their college basketball program is horrendous. Some years they’re bad, this year they are a train wreck. Today they were to scoring what Tim Beckman is to coaching. In a 42-25 loss to Eastern Michigan, the Huskies had 4, count ’em four points well into the second half. Obviously many of their football games are more high scoring than today.

They shot 1-33 from three point range. THAT’S 3%. 8-61 from the field. That’s 13%. Eastern Michigan shot just 37%, and won by 17 points. Man there is just some terrible basketball in the state of Illinois right now. 4-13 NIU gave Loyola and DePaul a tight game, and you know how bad Loyola and DePaul are. UIC blew out the Huskies, and the Flames aren’t even good themselves. And you know how much I’ve chronicled the struggles of Illinois and Northwestern.
