One of the most compelling players to watch in the Premier League is Chelsea striker Diego Costa. Love him, hate him, feel conflicted about him, you have an opinion on him.

We’re always talking about him, whether it’s because he’s scoring goals, or inciting conflict. Or misbehaving, and getting punished for it, something he’s quite good at doing. Tonight we’re talking about him due to the heated exchange he had with Pedro in the first half of Chelsea’s 2-0 loss at Tottenham Hotspur.

A recap of the incident, via the Daily Mirror:

In the opening stages at White Hart Lane, as sought to get a foothold in the match, their attacking fluency seemed to be absent as Pedro and Diego Costa failed to link up with one another during a counter attack.

But it didn’t end there.

Chelsea’s pair of Spanish internationals suddenly became embroiled in a heated argument abut the misplaced place, with frank views exchanged.

Take a look at the video below:

Here is how the club official account described it:

The altercation had the internet buzzing with Diego Costa a top ten trending term on Twitter and many observers and fans fearing for the physical safety of Pedro. In the end though the Blues attack had bigger problems as they failed to score, and the issues up front supplemented the problems that the Blues had all around in pretty much every position group that you can name. Their 13 game win streak came to an end, and they didn’t match 2001-02 Arsenal’s Premier League record consecutive win streak.

Tottenham’s tactics neutralized Costa and Spurs triumph vaulted them into the top four.

By the way if you ever wondered what Diego Costa would be like, if he were in cat form, watch this below:
