By: David Kay and Paul M. Banks 2008-09 Season Summary: When the magical Bulls-Celtics first round playoff series started, most of Chicago just wasn't very excited. I mean who gets all warm and tingly about a 41-41 team sneaking into the playoffs? This was the same squad that resided in the bottom rung of the league in February, and had a head coach who wasn't coaching and … [Read more...] about NBA Power Rankings: #13 Chicago Bulls

Vinny Del Negro’s Chicago Bulls Preseason Assessments

October 20, 2009 By paulmbanks

And in those playoffs, they gave the defending World Champion Boston Celtics all they could handle in a physical … [Read more...] about Vinny Del Negro’s Chicago Bulls Preseason Assessments

Will the Bulls Draft a Backup Point Guard?

June 17, 2009 By paulmbanks

By Paul M. Banks If there’s one position the Chicago Bulls don’t have a pressing need at, it’s point guard. The incumbent starter, Derrick Rose is the only player on the roster even remotely close to developing into a franchise player, and (SAT scandals and gang sign gestures aside) is the guy to build the team around. But the Bulls might see backup Kirk Hinrich move on soon … [Read more...] about Will the Bulls Draft a Backup Point Guard?

By Paul M. Banks and David Kay In recent years, we have seen how drafting a point guard can help change the face of an NBA franchise.  Think of the impact Chris Paul has had on the Hornets, Deron Williams in Utah, Rajon Rando with the Celtics, or just this past year, what Derrick Rose brought to the Bulls.  If you are a team in need of a point guard this year, the crop of … [Read more...] about UCLA Pair Part of Point Guard Heavy Draft

Derrick Rose Explains his Flashing of Gang Sign

June 11, 2009 By paulmbanks

By Paul M. Banks As if the University of Memphis needed more bad PR. Headlines surrounding the program lately have been dominated by questions over whether former player and current Chicago Bull star Derrick Rose had someone take his SAT for him; as well as other stories of institutionalized corruption and malfeasance within the Memphis Tigers family. Then the USC scandal … [Read more...] about Derrick Rose Explains his Flashing of Gang Sign

Hard to let go of Bulls-Celtics

May 5, 2009 By paulmbanks

By Paul M. Banks That Bulls-Celtics series- when it started I just wasn't very excited. Before the postseason, I was like the rest of Chicago not very interested in the Bulls. I mean who gets all warm and tingly about a 41-41 team sneaking into the playoffs? A squad with a joke of a coach and an ugly home loss to the OKC Thunder on their resume. But something magical … [Read more...] about Hard to let go of Bulls-Celtics
