Van Gaal, United ripped by Bayer Boss over Chicharito sale

Manchester United cast-off Javier Hernandez, commonly known as “Chicharito,” is now reaching his peak with Bayer Leverkusen. He’s won back to back Bundesliga Player of the Month awards, as he’s scoring goals with a blistering pace. Whether or not he would be doing this in the Premier League, with United, is debatable and another discussion for another time.

The fact is, United Manager Louis van Gaal decided that Chicharito didn’t deserve to have regular first team football at Old Trafford.

This week, Hernandez explained why he believes his form has really taken off this season. It’s not about self-confidence; it’s all about playing time. He admitted that the opportunities just weren’t there for United, and he knew that they weren’t coming either.

When you look at the massive success Chicharito is having, and combine it with the severe issues that United are having in scoring. (Yet another goalless draw on the way in the FA Cup today against lowly Sheffield United) and you can see why Bayer Leverkusen CEO Michael Schade ripped into Louis van Gaal and United in general, over the treatment of Chicharito

“Mr. Van Gaal did not know that (Chicharito) is a good player,”  Schade told Goal USA with a laugh.

“That’s what I read in the English newspapers. They are criticizing his former coach, Louis van Gaal, very much because he didn’t recognize what kind of talent this was. To be honest, Manchester would need a striker like him for the time being, but we’re happy to have him.”
