The new White Hart Lane is finally here! (sort of) The significantly delayed Tottenham Hotspur Stadium opening has now arrived. (kind of) The Tottenham U-18 side beat the Southampton U-18 today in the first of two test matches at the brand spanking new venue.

There will be one more warm-up match, an alumni match between Spurs and Inter Milan on Saturday night, then the first official match, featuring the senior team, comes April 3 when London rival Crystal Palace comes to town. The NFL will have a strong presence at the stadium too, starting next fall.

Home sweet home.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino was on hand today, and he addressed the crowd from pitch-side at half-time.

“We all feel the same, so excited. I got the same feeling when we left White Hart Lane on the last day, we were crying and now in the first day in the new stadium we feel the same emotion,” Pochettino said.

“We need to cry because our dream became true.”

The venue had originally been slated to open in Mid-September, then December, then…well, it’s here now.

?"Unbelievable. Exciting. A dream come true."

It’s a crazy coincidence that the very first match just happened to be against the youth version of Pochettino’s former club.
