Tottenham Hotspur Transfer Talk: Malcolm, Christian Eriksen

It’s January and that means it’s time to talk transfer rumors. Tottenham Hotspur have become notorious for inactivity in the past year or so, but every has changed now given the Harry Kane situation. Now that Tottenham have officially confirmed that their talisman and franchise player will be out until March due to severe ankle ligament damage.

Spurs now face an uphill climb to hold on to a top four position, and their odds of winning one of the cup competitions they are still alive in are now much longer. What will they do to try and beef up the squad?

The Daily Star has reported that Spurs might consider Barcelona winger Malcom as an option to add depth in the final third. He’s been a bit of a flop during his time at the Catalan club, and could be looking for a fresh start. Since moving over to the Camp Nou from Bordeaux in the summer, he’s only made five La Liga appearances.

The Daily Star adds that the 21-year-old Brazilian “can play anywhere in a front three, was on their radar last summer before he joined Barca from Bordeaux.”

In staying with the Spurs attacking unit, winger Christian Eriksen is reportedly not interested in extending his stay at the club. According to AS, his camp is in talks about his potentially joining Real Madrid, for a transfer fee that could actually be in the neighborhood of £100 million!

Given all the hardball that Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy is known to play when negotiating, don’t be surprised if the Dane’s move triggers a very high sum.

Real will be looking for help in attack too, as they need to eventually replace Cristiano Ronaldo, and it looks like Chelsea’s Eden Hazard will be a viable option for doing so.
