Old Trafford Becomes Social Media Punchline After MUFC Drop Home Points Again

Just imagine where Manchester United would be if they could just finish at Old Trafford against mid and lower table teams. It happened again Sunday in a 1-1 draw with Swansea City, a club that’s literally fighting for Premier League safety. Even with all the injuries, there’s still absolutely no excuse for dropping points at home against the mediocre, the bad, and the very bad of England’s top flight.

On paper, United should be getting these results, obviously. Of course, football isn’t played on paper.

United now have 17 wins, a league leading 14 draws (10 of which have been at Old Trafford) and 3 losses on the season. To their credit (maybe) they are now undefeated in 25 straight Premier League matches. That’s a club record, although it certainly does not not feel like it.

Old Trafford is a top ten trending term worldwide on Twitter right now and most of the Tweets are not favorable. It’s United fans expressing their disgust with the result, and football observers and fans voicing their astonishment.

Here is a sampling of the more informative and entertaining Old Trafford tweets:

Another home league draw for United. Their 10th of the season. That's 20 points dropped at Old Trafford alone. Incredible.
