The Daily Star has a story today claiming that “Louis van Gaal WILL be sacked if Manchester United lose to Shrewsbury on Monday.” (kickoff was just a few minutes ago)
Although it’s questionable how much stock you should put in that story given that the same exact publication has two more stories about Van Gaal’s future which directly contradict one another.
One narrative claims “Meanwhile, United plan to give the job to current assistant Ryan Giggs, not Jose Mourinho, according to reports,” while the other says “Jose Mourinho has a gentleman’s agreement to take over at Manchester United, according to other reports.”
So really, does anybody know at this point? Anyway, here’s the rest of the round-up of Man United managerial speculation from Monday.
The Guardian claims that “Jose Mourinho will not wait all summer to be offered the Manchester United job.”
The Sun writes “Ryan Giggs will need persuading to take over from Louis van Gaal as United boss.”
The London based publication followed that up today with this report:
Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and agent Jorge Mendes have sealed a deal that would see Mourinho replace Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.
Although no formal contract has been signed, the Manchester Evening News claim Mourinho and the club are now destined to work to together next season.
