Once again Jose Mourinho is going viral on the internet due to his slipping and falling. This time he took at tumble while walking the red carpet at a special appearance dropping the puck to start an ice hockey game between SKA and Avangard. As you can see in the video below, he received immediate assistance from legendary hockey player Pavel Datsyuk after the face-off.
It doesn’t appear that he was injured at all by the slipping and falling, and stadium staff then ensured his safe passage off the ice and back into the stands.
Mourinho, who did World Cup punditry for the Russian state television network RT, as been doing some promotional work for the Russian ice hockey team in Balashikha, and appeared at this game as a guest of Siberian club Avangard.
For the most part though he has kept a low public profile since being fired by Manchester United just before Christmas.
However, one aspect of this video that may be going a bit overlooked is this- why is a Russian club playing the theme from Rocky? They did see Rocky IV, and remember the general Cold War plot to the film and who the “villains” were in it, correct? It seems a bit odd as far music choices go.
