Ahead of Manchester United’s visit to the AMEX Stadium to take on Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, manager Jose Mourinho gave some team news. He provided this news ahead of his Friday news conference actually. Mourinho indicated the return of Jesse Lingard for week two, as he was not involved in week one.

Mourinho also said we should expect to see more of Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku, Marouane Fellaini and Paul Pogba, who saw all featured, but saw limited time.

“I think we will have the same players (as against Leicester City in the opener),” Mourinho said.

“I think the injured players aren’t going to be back for Brighton. What we have is Paul (Pogba) with nine days’ training, (Marcus) Rashford with 11 days’ training, (Marouane) Fellaini with nine days’ training and, of course, they will be in a better condition.

“Normally, these boys that [against Leicester] were in a difficult situation will be ready to give a bit more (against Brighton) – more (Romelu) Lukaku, more Rashford, probably Lingard coming back, more Fellaini. I think normally we’re going to have more.”

The six players that Mourinho referred to are reserve goalkeeper Sergio Romero, new defender Diago Dalot, want away defender Marcos Rojo, plus midfielders Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera and Antonio Valencia.

For Brighton, Joze Izquierdo, Florin Andone and Bruno Saltor are all doubts.
