Manchester City Release UEFA Champions League Squad List

Yesterday saw the four English Premier League teams who qualified for UEFA Champions League release their squad lists for the 2018-19 competition. Manchester had an impressive showing last term as they advanced to the elite eight, but the end result was ultimately hugely disappointing.

With all that was accomplished last season, all the records that Pep Guardiola’s men broke, the quest now is to win Europe. City came, they saw and they conquered domestically. Now it’s time to bring that dominance to Europe. It all begins for Manchester City on Sept 19 when they host French side Lyon in the group stages of the competition.

Let’s take a look at who the Cityzens will be bringing with them to the European competition.

In case you’re wondering what the “A List” is (no, it has nothing to do with Hollywood celebrities), UEFA bylaws define it as follows:

“List A is made up of a maximum of 25 players, two of whom must be goalkeepers. There are a minimum of eight places reserved exclusively for ‘locally trained players’. If a club have fewer than eight locally trained players in their squad, then the maximum number of players on List A is reduced accordingly.
