It continues to be a very exciting summer at Manchester United, with a whole lot going on. While we still have a bit of time until the preseason exhibition games begin, there is certainly no shortage of topics to discuss today.
So let’s take a spin through the latest news and notes items making the rounds on the internet on this Monday.
-The greatest Manchester United player of the Premier League era, according to a United supporter poll in May, is Cristiano Ronaldo. This past week Ronaldo announced his move from Real Madrid to Juventus. A couple days later his agent, Jorge Mendes, said that Juve will be CR7’s final team.
Mendes’ comments ruled out the idea of Ronaldo ever returning to United.
Monday brought Ronaldo’s official unveiling at his new team.
He underwent his medical for his new club, in front of four different doctors:

-Luke Shaw is supposedly threatening to leave United, and move away on a free transfer unless he starts the season as the first team left-back. This according to ESPN FC.
Shaw showed up at training camp in phenomenal shape, and the commitment he has shown to achieving an elite level of fitness, is probably indicative of his desire and ambition to beat out Ashley Young and become Mourinho’s choice at the position in the starting XI.
-Finally, a great read from The Guardian on Paul Pogba, entitled “from doubted to dominator: Paul Pogba’s World Cup Evolution.” It contains this headlining quote from Adil Rami, French and Marseille central defender.
“I can tell you that Paul Pogba, I don’t know how and I don’t know from where, has become a leader,” announced Adil Rami.
“He proved it to us. He showed it. He’s the one that showed the way. He was the strong man of the France team.”
Pogba came into the competition saying that he had ambitions of bossing the World Cup.
He did just that as his form both quieted his seemingly never ending train of critics, and elicited praise far and wide.
Overall, it makes United supporters wonder if he can carry this top class form into the 2018-19 season for United.
