Louis van Gaal Admits He Would Like Revenge on Man United

It’s very clear that former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal hasn’t gotten over his sacking by the club in May of 2016. Van Gaal was let go just days after winning his only trophy with the club, the FA Cup, in a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace. Van Gaal says he’s not interested in managing anymore, but admits that he would take a job in England in order to get back at Ed Woodward and the board at Old Trafford.

“I will probably not manage a club anymore,” Van Gaal said Sunday night.

“I would make one exception: if a big English club comes for me, than I would do it. Because then I can get the chance to get one over on Manchester United.’’

Mourinho was being actively recruited to fill the United job while LVG was still the boss, and the Dutchman had this to say about that situation: “Woodward should have come to me and we could have worked on that.

“I have nothing against Jose.’’

Although it’s difficult to believe Van Gaal on that last part as he just recently blasted Mourinho and the direction of the club under the watch of the Portugese. Van Gaal brought United back to Champions League qualification in his first season with the club, but failed to lead his side beyond the group stages. He was sacked after leading his second team to a fifth place finish; in a season in which his team was consistently ripped for being excessively dull.
