Liverpool will be without one of their key defenders in Dejan Lovren. No time table has been set for his return, but he’ll be gone for the Christmas period into the New Year at minimum.
Dejan Lovren escaped serious ligament injury following a tackle from West Brom’s Craig Gardner, scans have revealed.
A gash in the Croatia international’s leg required five stitches, and there is still swelling and bruising around the knee.
Press Association Sport has a similar but more detailed report today, saying that the results have shown no ligament damage, but the joint is still significantly swollen and bruised and the defender’s recovery is likely to take around a month.
Martin Skrtel is the team’s best defender, but Dejan Lovren is really good too.
