Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp sounds very hopeful that his Player of the Year candidate Mo Salah will be fit for Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final second leg at Manchester City. Liverpool won the first leg at Anfield 3-0 last Wednesday, meaning City will be under tremendous pressure to avoid an early exit in Europe yet again.

Salah sat out yesterday’s tedious and goalless Merseyside derby draw at Everton due to a groin injury. The Egyptian winger tried, very aggressively to get fit in time, as he even employed the use of an oxygen chamber.

“Everybody thinks he’ll be ready for Tuesday but at the end we will see,” said Klopp of his star’s status for Tuesday night.

Manchester City will get their primary weapon, Sergio Aguero, back for the home leg of this tie, as he was not yet fit enough to play in the first leg last week. However, he saw action in City’s 3-2 Manchester derby loss on Saturday, where he came very close to scoring a milestone goal.

Since Salah, who has scored 38 goals this season, exited last week’s win in the 53′, Klopp has maintained a pretty positive attitude about his scorer’s prognosis most of the time.
