New Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri maintains that he will make a couple changes to the roster that he inherited from predecessor Antonio Conte. The former Napoli man made comments to Chelsea TV that signal a couple tweaks, but not a major overhaul to the roster.
This summer, Sarri will mold the team in his visage, a squad that promises to play a lot of attacking football.
On the same day that Sarri was announced, the club also made the addition of Jorginho official.
So far, the midfielder who moved with Sarri from Napoli is the only new player added by Chelsea this window. However, there have been a ton of Chelsea transfer rumors circulating on the internet since the Sarri announcement.
As always, take what’s being claimed with a grain of salt until it’s actually confirmed.
Multiple outlets are picking up on a report in the Italian media that claims Chelsea have agreed to terms with CSKA Moscow for the transfer of World Cup hero Aleksandr Golovin.
Tass.com is one of those outlets, citing Corriere dello Sport as the source in their post on the Russian international.
“Chelsea and CSKA have agreed terms for a deal to sign Aleksandr Golovin,” Matteo Pedrosi, a journalist with Corriere dello Sport, wrote in his Twitter account.
“Player has rejected Monaco offer. No Juve advance. Golovin will be a new Chelsea midfielder.”

This narrative has been rejected though by Yevgeny Giner, the owner of CSKA Moscow. This afternoon he disputed the claims that a definitive deal had been reached.
In an interview with Sport24, Giner said:
‘I believe that Sasha can grow into a big star. I’m not sure that this can happen in the Russian championship. Nothing to dissemble, the level of the English Premier League or the championship of Spain is much higher. In order not to ruin Sasha, we must let him go. But we have no solution for today. When we receive an offer, we always try to negotiate openly. Indeed, we were visited by the vice-president of Monaco Vasilyev and he made a proposal for Golovin.’
‘Chelsea? There is no closed arrangement with them. But the question of his transition to another club will be decided, I think, in the next couple of days.’
In addition to Chelsea and Monaco, Golovin has also been linked to Arsenal this transfer window.
