Manchester United have a FA Cup quarterfinal clash at Wolverhampton Wanderers the day after tomorrow and it’s a match that may see their first choice midfield available for the first time in awhile. Ander Herrera resumed training last week, and looks set to be fit for the Saturday tussle with Wolves.

According to Birmingham Live: “The Spanish international failed a late fitness test before their defeat to Arsenal, but looks set to return to the starting line up.” Nemanja Matic returned to the team on the weekend, and while Paul Pogba was suspended for the thrilling comeback win over Paris Saint-Germain, he is now eligible again.

This will be the first time that the A-list midfield trio has been available in nearly a month (February 18, vs Chelsea in the last round of the FA Cup).

Additionally, another midfielder, is nearing a return from injury, and could potentially provide reinforcements in this one.

“On Friday, I was able to put in some work out on a pitch again and my recovery is progressing as hoped.” Mata wrote on his blog.

“Hopefully I can rejoin the team soon. Thank you for your messages and I hope that you have a fantastic week. I’m going to keep doing everything I can to be back fit as soon as possible.”

The Red Devils will also potentially be without weekend Premier League debutante Mason Greenwood.

According to the official United website: “the 17-year-old forward is presumably a doubt after an illness prevented him from joining Nicky Butt’s Under-19 squad in Denmark for today’s UEFA Youth League tie against FC Midtjylland.”

We should know more about the overall fitness situation on Friday; United are favored in this quarterfinal clash.
