ESPN hires Tim Tebow for SEC Network, like or dislike?

I always thought Tim Tebow would have a career in public speaking; just not this type of public speaking. Tim Tebow the motivational speaker? I could see that being a successful entity. Tim Tebow the color analyst?

YAWN!

Well, ESPN disagrees with as they hired him to be a television analyst for SEC Network. He’ll make his debut during the National Title game a week from tonight.

SEC Network launches in August 2014. Through a multi-year agreement, Tebow’s primary role will be as an analyst for SEC Nation, the network’s traveling pregame show that will originate from a different SEC campus each week beginning August 28, 2014. In the months leading up to launch and after, he will contribute to a variety of ESPN platforms including SportsCenter, ESPN Radio, and the network’s Heisman Trophy coverage. I’ve seen more than enough Tim Tebow interviews to last ten thousand lifetimes.

Everything is “great.” And everyone is “awesome.” Tim Tebow is probably very dull in that regard by design. He’s calculated to be Disney (and now he works for an outlet owned by Disney!) and bland. Now maybe the personality that he’s been hiding will finally shine through? We’ve known numerous players who were BORING and corporate the whole time they played ball. Then they get a plum TV job and all of a sudden they’re irreverent, iconoclastic and opinionated. Will Tim Tebow follow suit?

Tim Tebow will contribute to the 8a.m. CST edition of SportsCenter, College Football Live and College GameDay Built by The Home Depot. He will also be part of studio coverage for the new College Football Playoff (semifinals and championship game), which begins next season.

Tim Tebow is the first college football analyst hired for the SEC Network. He joins a commentating roster that includes Joe Tessitore, host of SEC Nation, and Paul Finebaum. Tebow is certainly as polarizing as Johnny Manziel, but for the polar opposite reason. So do you love this move for Tim Tebow? Or are you sick of Tim Tebow and don’t want any more of him.
