Here’s how the Big Ten was represented in the recruiting rankings according to 24/7 Sports:  Ohio State #7, Illinois #8, Michigan State #11, Nebraska #23, Wisconsin #30, Penn State #31, Minnesota #36, Northwestern #43 and Indiana #49. Rivals had OSU #8, MSU #12 and the Illini #16 in their top 25. This is new territory for Northwestern basketball. The last time they probably had a recruiting class ranked this high….I’m not sure recruiting services even existed.

NU has never had a class this good in the era of the recruiting-industrial complex that exists today.

Chris Collins formally and officially announced the signing of Jordan Ash (Bolingbrook, Ill/St. Joseph) and Aaron Falzon (Newton, Mass./Northfield Mount Hermon).

The future Northwestern basketball duo gives Collins the 31st-ranked recruiting class according to ESPNU.

-Jordan Ash is a 6-2 guard from Bolingbrook, Ill./St. Joseph. He plays at the same high school that produced Isiah Thomas, Demetri McCamey, Evan Turner and one of the guys from hoop dreams.

Collins on Ash: “It’s great to add another Chicago area product who comes in with a winning pedigree, playing for such a prestigious program like he has at St. Joseph’s under Coach Gene Pingatore. He’s an athletic combo guard who is very versatile and can do a lot of things on the court.”

-Aaron Falzon is a 6-8 Forward from Newton, Mass. The four-star recruit is ranked #91 by ESPN.com and No. 99 by Rivals.com

Collins on Falzon: “At 6-foot-8, to be able to stretch the floor and bring an all-around skill set adds to our versatility which is something that we really wanted to address in this class. He’ll be counted on right away to be a huge contributor to our program.”
