Four of the biggest six Premier League clubs remain in the League Cup competition, and all of them were somehow able to avoid each other in today’s quarterfinal draw. How amazing and convenient! Isn’t it? The big boys comprise half of the remaining field, yet somehow all got drawn against smaller sides for the round of eight, and thus all stand a much better chance now of advancing to the League Cup semifinals.

The draw itself was supposed to be extremely ground-breaking, as this would be the first one to ever be streamed live via Twitter. However, there were numerous delays with technical issues, and the draw finally took place almost two hours late, an the only way the reveal could be achieved was via a pre-recorded video.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at the next round of League Cup match-ups.
Current cup holders Manchester United will continue their trophy defense by traveling to Bristol City, the only lower-division side still left in the tourney. West Ham United pulled a huge upset by ousting Tottenham Hotspur, and they drew a north London side again in Arsenal.

League title front-runner Manchester City visit 2015-16 league champions Leicester City.
Chelsea gets to stay at home again this round, and their opponent is Bournemouth, the exact same club they’ll face in league play this weekend. .
The ties will be played the week of Dec. 18.
