Jose Mourinho is under contract at Manchester United until 2019, and reportedly looking to extend that deal. However, the 54-year-old still might have designs on managing Paris Saint-Germain someday, as he praised the Ligue 1 powerhouse in an in interview with French television network Telefoot.

In the same interview, Mourinho said he won’t be finishing his career at Old Trafford.

“The only thing I will say is that I am still a coach with concerns, with ambitions and with the desire to do new things. I am sure that I will not finish my career here [at Manchester United],” Mourinho said.

“My son, who lives in London, went to Paris to watch a Paris Saint-Germain match instead of Manchester. Why Paris? Because they have something special. Magic, quality and youth. It is fantastic.”

The Special One to the City of Light? That certainly makes for a colorful combination, and he’s right about that being a great potential match when it comes to the scale of ambition behind manager and club. For now though Mourinho has to first win some major trophies at United, in addition to the minor ones that he took him during his first year on the job.

Paris Saint-Germain have made it abundantly clear that they have designs on winning UEFA Champions League, and competing for that title regularly.

They still have a lot to prove as a club, in order to reach that level.
