Detroit Pistons guard Rodney Stuckey underwent successful surgery to repair a fracture of the distal phalanx on his right thumb today. The procedure was performed by Dr. Brian Najerian at DMC Surgical Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He should be out for a couple weeks, maybe even a few weeks as he’ll wear a splint on the thumb for two weeks.
The Pistons also said that Rodney Stuckey will be re-evaluated at that time.
Rodney Stuckey will be a key cog for the Pistons this year. Although it remains to be seen or not whether he’ll be available for the season opener, he will miss a significant portion of the preseason. Which is not really a big deal. Stuckey should pair well with Brandon Jennings to give the Pistons a pretty decent backcourt; although guard depth will still be a major issue for them.
Detroit has a couple of nice players up front, who will supplement Rodney Stuckey, but overall I still don’t see the Pistons as a NBA playoff team. The Eastern Conference is too strong, and I see them as one of the worst teams in the conference.
